Top 10 Things You Can Do to Prepare for #LinkageWIL

With just a few days to go until we welcome 900+ leaders to Linkage’s Women in Leadership Institute™ (WIL), it’s time to start thinking about how to prepare for this truly transformational experience.

Our team is eager to welcome you to Phoenix, AZ for what promises to be an inspiring and action-packed week. Make the most of your time at #LinkageWIL by reviewing this helpful list of resources and tips, compiled by our team:

  1. Registered attendees, download the Linkage App (Event Code: LinkageWIL2018). Access your schedule, read about our amazing faculty, make new connections, and stay up-to-date on the latest program updates.
  1. Print your assessment. You should have received a link to your personalized 360° Women in Leadership Assessment™ report. Print a copy of the report and take a few minutes to reflect on the data. Jot down your questions and bring a copy with you.
  1. Stop questioning yourself and start taking control of your success. #LinkageWIL co-chair Susan MacKenty Brady’s new book addresses the 7 hurdles that women leaders commonly face in the workforce. WIL attendees will be the first to receive copies of the book, due out December 3.
  1. Get into the right mindset. According to WIL co-chair and Wall Street veteran Carla Harris, your ability to inspire your team is a direct result of your actions and your behavior—and it creates better results.
  1. Download a podcast for the flight. Molly Fletcher, former sports agent, entrepreneur, and WIL faculty member, has some fantastic recommendations of podcasts to help you grow as a leader–including “How I Built This” from NPR, which features interviews with the leaders who built some of the nation’s most innovative companies and organizations.
  1. Get inspired by the stories of other women leaders. Dive into the stories of the recipients of this year’s Women in Leadership Executive Impact Award, including Maureen MacInnis, SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer and Communications at Dentsply Sirona, who explains why fostering a mindset and environment of inclusion is essential, and Millie Marshall, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, who shares the importance of embracing change.
  1. Get ready to get social. We will be sharing insights from center stage all week–and we want to add your voice to the conversation. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and share your thoughts by using #LinkageWIL.
  1. Think about what’s important to you. Yes, circumstances change, and we continue to evolve over the course of our lifetime. In this blog post, I explain why this doesn’t mean that we should abandon what we’re passionate about.
  1. Get purposeful—starting right now. “Discovering and living in your purpose is not a one-time event—it evolves over the course of your lifetime.” Check out bestselling author and WIL faculty member Simon Bailey’s blog post on how to turn your purpose into your career.
  1. Ask yourself: why do I lead? At WIL, you’ll have the unique opportunity to reflect on your own journey and what inspires you to lead. Our greatest call to action as leaders is to live our purpose. It matters—and has a lasting impact. Our team’s recent research explains how.
