In her work as the Executive Director of the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health and Gender Biology and Chief of the Division of Women’s Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Dr. Paula Johnson’s groundbreaking work and interdisciplinary research and education has made a significant impact in women’s health, academic medicine, and leadership.

As you can see in the following video, she’s a pioneer in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease and developed one of the first facilities in the country to focus on heart disease in women.

As a result of her tireless dedication to women in leadership and healthcare, shes been named the 2015 recipient of Linkage’s Outstanding Woman Leader in Healthcare award.

“It is a great honor to be recognized for your work,” says Dr. Johnson. “This award is especially meaningful to me because of the purpose of the summit—to help women accelerate and take on senior leadership and decision-making roles. Women make up the majority of healthcare and academic medicine workers and are crucial to the future and success of our industry.”

She’ll be presented the award in front of over 400 leaders from healthcare and academic medicine organizations across the country at the 1st annual Leadership Summit for Women: Leading the Future of Healthcare and Academic Medicine, this March 30, 2015, in Ann Arbor, MI.
